day 1
trip to the doune castle...
saw a big hairy coo...
passed by some rapids...
stopped for lunch at fort augustus...
stopped for some photo shots at the loch resembling the shape of scotland...
then finally settling down for the night at the beautiful town of portree on the isle of skye.
dinner was at macnab's. the food was the cheapest we could find, and surprisingly very nice!
day 2
breakfast at our B&B felt like a 5 star hotel. i loved the fruits the most!
lunch was a simple affair, but i'm getting ahead of myself.
on day 2, we went to see the cuillin hills. that's our tour guide there.
then we made a trip down to see the lighthouse. didnt' look at all like how i imagined it would look. quite disappointing really. but the view was great.
then the fun began... the climb back up which was excruciatingly long. sigh..
we went to see a waterfall..
with some dinasour pawprints..
and then headed up to the quirang for some magnificent panoramic view of the isle.
our last stop was for them to climb some mountain. i really looked scary. the people had to scramble across some rocks onto the top with nothing on their left or right, and needless to say, a great height to fall. me? i went to see the loch nearby. safe. haha.. i'm hopeless i know.
back to portree for dinner at the same place. we actually checked out the famous seafood store, but it was kinda pricey.
day 3
we first went for a far-off view of the eileen donan castle.
then up close.
i was pretty sick that day, so i didn't take much photos. pretty wasted. but anyways, after our trip to the castle, we went to see the loch ness, made a stop at some tiny waterfall just to stretch our legs, and then lastly paid a visit to some small town to see salmon jumping upstream. didn't manage to catch a glimpse of them in action though, but we still managed to see the dam.
3 days passed by so fast. it was nice to travel with my family though. really a major TLC session after 1 year away from home. =]
