we arrived at belfast after a short flight of just around 20 minutes. belfast reminded me pretty much of glasgow.
after wandering into the shopping area, i finally got to try my much-craved-for starbucks berry frappucino. yummy! serious! try and you'll never regret it. shopping was good too. we managed to get some stuff which of course we could have gotten in glasgow but no it was more exciting if bought from belfast.
dinner was at a nice bar near our hostel. forgot the name of the bar. the food was superb though.

we had ulster frys for breakfast. it was so gigantic that just 2 sets was enough for all 4 of us. it was very oily though, very bad for digestion. but boy was it nice... what can i say? we like unhealthy stuff. it's just human nature.
we hopped onto the tour bus for a day tour of giant causeway, the third most visited place in the world after niagara falls and the grand canyon (not necessarily in this order. actually i have forgotten the real order). needless to say, i was excited. along the way, there were many nice sights too!
before going to the giant causeway, we made some stops first. some we just saw along the way from the bus.
this is a fairy tree. they're easy to spot since they're mostly in the middle of some field, not being cut down for fear of bad luck befalling the town or sth.
one of the more major stop was the rope bridge. if you look at the far right hand corner, you can see the rope just about starting to break, or so our tour guide said.
i just love to see the turqoise waves crashing against the majestic cliffs. any spot of water makes my shutter finger go crazy actually. water just excites me, and makes me wana take the same spot from all sorts of different angles. i really go crazy. watch me sometime.
after the rope bridge, we made another stop at a whisky brewery.
and finally, the giant's causeway! the cliffs were so majestic and grand, the waters blue and crashing against the rugged cliffs, and the lava formation really a sight unseen before. the steps were formed as a volcano eruption in the past cooled. really a sight to behold. of course, there are other versions, such as the path for an ireland giant to cross over to scotland etc. the tour guide regaled us with many interesting stories, making the trip most enjoyable.
it was here that i discovered what was to be my latest ice-cream craze - honeycomb ice cream. it's really lip-smacking and fingerlicious good. sweet, with real bits of honeycomb scattered around. total bliss..
we had our last dinner in belfast at aunty annie's, this time not just delicious, but cheap too!
our time in belfast was short but most enjoyable. the giant's causeway is totally a must-see for anyone with the chance or choice. i must say that this had been the best tour i've ever taken, albeit somewhat tiring. really thank God for the wonderful weather.
