spain

one day tortugana, slugudiaa, nuafen and evilyn decided to set out for their last trip together before leaving back to malaysia. and so to spain they went!

how far could they go in spain when the only spanish words they knew was 'hola' ?? well, they were there to find out. amidst their numerous and creative sign languages created on the spot, they managed to survive a week in spain (and also a few more days in portugal after that) without any problem at all.

and so we start on our spain trip (photos in no particular order, simply coz i'm so muddled myself of the exact timeline).

MADRID

our first group photo at the basement of our hostel

TOLEDO

moving on to toledo the next day.. where the landscape was so different. everything was in shades of brown/yellow. i really liked it.

until, of course, the heat kicked in. with the sun shinning relentlessly on our back, there was no choice but to once again bring out my trusty companion - my umbrella!

i really loved their train station. apart from being one of the most cooling places, the architecture was simply breathtaking.

the pretty streets of toledo

their buskers...

these shops could be found throughout toledo, which is no surprise since it's the place where they made the weapons used in lord of the rings.

some big room covered with gold paper. pretty weird.

you wana know why it was so sweltering hot??

MADRID

back to madrid's train station. this is what i call weird art.

dinner was our first taste of paella in spain. i personally think the paella in La Tasca tastes much better, besides being much cheaper.

BARCELONA day 1

the first gaudi design we saw. man does he love curves.

starbucks became our favourite hideout in spain. i mean, it was cool there, dark berry mocha had a special place in our hearts, plus we loved to slug. so, you can guess the rest.

riding on the top deck of the hop on hop off bus through a tunnel. felt like one of those rides at genting.

met ka keat's group at la rambla. what a coincidence!

we went to Park Guille, another of Gaudi's famous designs. of course, there was plenty of his favourite stuff, such as curves, waves, and mosaic tiles. it was way cool~

the gingerbread house

gaudi's famous lizard. i seriously don't know why they like it so much. but well, i suppose that's gaudi for you.

the church which has been, and still is, under construction.

i think this is one of those places where dao ming shi was running through frantically in search of shan cai when she got lost in meteor garden2.

BARCELONA day 2

due to my sore throat, i had salad everyday. almost couldn't believe myself.

batu also camhore half an hour.. sweat..

turned our head the wrong direction. looks like we just had a fight. haha..

we went to the beach!! really took lots of shots there. but i think that's where we all became really tanned. sigh.. all my hard work regaining my fairness over the year in uk...

see the scottish flag on yi lyn's foot?

sexy hunks at the beach.

jumping shots... a P106 addiction

this is where soo fen's favourite lengzai offered to take a group photo of us. i still think it's a rubbish dump though.

we went back to park guille on the second day since we had to rush home the first day. it was so nice there...

cute baby

dinner under the stars...

BARCELONA day 3

barcelona market.. full of colour!

we managed to stumble upon on of the buskers starring in meteor garden 2!! soo fen and i were so excited.

i think this was the fountain in meteor garden too. was it? actually i can't really remember. haha..

Dinner was at seville

our choices were limited, but this got me coughing again. sigh..

SEVILLE day 2

our first stop was their government building. it looks so grand. i can't help but compare it to the government building in seremban where i went to do my passport/ic.

i saw bunga raya there! (yup, got it right this time.;p)

as usual, we jump at the chance to take group photos, since we don't really trust strangers so much nowadays.

the sakai ice-cream buyers

dinner was a sad affair.. sigh.. we wanted to have tapas this time, but ended up eating stuff which my instinct just screams 'microwaved'!

SEVILLE day 3

i was so thisty that day, drank both dark berry mocha and mango shake! they were both so nice though..but i still couldn't really believe myself. this was way extreme for me man..

at the bull-fighting stadium. i still find it a very sad place when i think of all the deaths here, bull and man included.

and so our trip to spain ended. and hence began my craving for fenta.
