princess' 22nd birthday!=]

on friday after going to pc fair, me, shu yin and kelvin went to find perfume for leng leng. we even established a routine. first, shu yin will smell, then she will pass the test strips to me, and i will pass them all to kelvin, who would have his hands full of all sorts of smells. we came across some quite nice ones, like.. umm.. estee lauder's beautiful love? can't really remember the name. then ralph lauren the orange coloured one. very fruity. quite nice. ck's pink colour one also not bad. in the end, we bought ck's summer, since it was a limited edition. it smells nice too, leng leng wore it today. hehe.. so, now, that's just the present. we had much more planned for her. buahahaha..

monday. day before the big day. we went to fusion haven to eat lunch. they still had the offer where you could buy a dish for rm3.90 after odering a drink of at least rm3. i tried the vietnamese chicken rice this time. i sampled shu yin's pepperocino and pui leng's carbonara too. both were nice, but in different ways. mine was nice too! hehe.. i ordered apple tea this time round. we had a nice lunch before rushing back to listen to Dr. Ong's sexy voice for an hour and a half.

today. haha.. leng's birthday. we told her we were going to pasar malam. chris told her he was bringing her out to eat. actually.. we were there to surprise her, along with her high school friends. i could vaguely remember the way. been there once. got lost in the process. but finally managed to find our way there. it was so funny. she was like walking by (we were hiding in the side garden) saying 'hi uncle' to some uncle, then she saw us and was just simply stunned. touched too i think. haha.. feel very happy for her too.

christmas deco everywhere..

first, we went to start karen's car. it was a bit jerky, so i pressed the accelerator to pump in some oil or something. then, oops! it was actually the brake. nothing happened, so don't worry. we just sorta locked ourselves in, without understanding the mechanisms of opening the auto-lock via a certain secret button located in some secluded spot. lol.

then we went to the store to buy christmas presents for orphans. it was quite fun reliving our childhood. but it's a pity the box is too small to fit the big box of building blocks which i'm sure the kids would have liked very much.

we went to midvalley quite unexpectedly. just that i suddenly wanted to find something, which i couldn't find in klcc yesterday. and i actually found it in metrojaya!! quite nice and cheap and not too '0ld'-looking. hope it will be put to good use. i will always keep B.U.M. in mind now.=]

then horror of horrors, i don't know what came over me, just that i was suddenly very much 'broker' due to something which i normally wouldn't have even considered. what has happened to me?! but i really like it very much. =] and it did give me two vouchers to use on the thing which i was buying anyway. but don't envy me.;p

we actually lined up to get a free sample of korean spicy mee and japanese bread. the bread was simply delicious and buttery. next time when i'm rich.. i will buy and eat it for breakfast. buahaha.. we went to the jusco selection of japanese food and were really lost for choice. i wanted to try the japanese set meals of rice or noodles, but yet the sushi called to me. in the end, sushi won. i forgot to take a picture of it until it was half eaten though. but i still like octopus the best! yum yum!!

there's another unagi sushi which was already in my stomach. even the octopus sushi is 'borrowed' from fiona. and i ate one of the tiny cucumber sushi already. the whole thing cost rm7.88 the variety was much much more than what i could find in jusco seremban. wow..

my dear roommate - fiona

-me-

my mood.. not very good actually. since last night, certain words keep ringing in my head. uncertainties. heavy clouds threatening to overwhelm the blue sky. sometimes i don't know when i'm thinking too much of nothing, and when i'm ignoring clear signs of something. the minute i stepped into midvalley.. i saw throngs of people rushing into shops, passing me by, yet i have never felt more alone. so now, here i am home again, with my posology report awaiting me, and the time ticking away ever so fast, and me gloomy as ever. if i was in africa earlier, well, now i'm thrown into the antartica. so cold.. was it something i said? either way, i suppose i brought it on to myself. yesterday and today, what with my rash fingers poking my phone and my stupid expectations. now i feel like the nut frozen in ice in ice-age. oh well, i'm just in a super crappy mood now, so ignore me. and i'll be ok tomorrow. i must. now, i just feel like i wanna dissolve into the sea or disperse into a million particles so that i can exist without existing, and escape from despairing over the miseries that must befall us.

fish and chips!

thursday me and fiona suddenly had a bright idea to make a western meal instead. so we made coleslaw, mashed potatoes, fried fish, eggs and sausages. i know it doesn't look nice. haha.. but it sure was delicious. the fish were quite a problem though. the oil kept splattering, hot oil mind you. then the fish didn't look cooked even though it was turning the shade of black.

then yesterday, i went to pc fair with shu yin and kelvin. we had fish and chips in the klcc food court. it was very nice!! it costs rm10.40 after tax.

a quote from francis' msn shoutout~

To doubt is worse than to have lost; And to despair is but to antedate those miseries that must fall on us.

sweet sour craze!

me, being crazy over the imu canteen's sweet & sour dishes, have finally been able to recreate my own to satisfy my craving for it, albeit the two being in totally different levels of taste, with mine being the lower class. hah.. but well.. here is my very own concoction. easy to make, not too bad to eat.

1. marinate minced meat with soy sauce and pepper.

2. make into ball shapes and 'gulung' in flour.

3. deep fry.

4. scope out into bowl lined with tissue paper.

now for the sauce..

1. cut big onions, tomato, garlic and cucumber, throw into oil and fry.

2. add lotz and lotz of sweet and sour sauce. haha! (that's how it's edible, since the seasoning is not by me!;p)

3. throw in the balls and stir together.

tadaa.. ready to eat!

sunway here we come!=]

today we three gals got together again. hehe.. this time to sunway pyramid.

before that, we went to fusion haven (previously taste walking) for lunch. they had this quite attractive promotion where you can buy a lunch dish for rm3.90 as long as you buy any drink above rm3. and the rm3.90 dishes were good! it included carbonara, teriyaki omelette and etc. i ordered ramen. quite nice and tasty for a ramen. i've eaten worst before for more expensive prices. i like the vietnamese chicken rice the best - ordered by kee san. it has a taste of lemon grass. we even shared a desert, the melting chocolate over ice cream dish.

Our food

my food - ramen and mango lassi

me and boon koon

the delicious and famous mouth-watering desert -
hot chocolate oozing out over cold ice cream

after filling all our stomachs, we set out for sunway! yay!

parking was hard to find, but we managed to get a space in the end. we went crazy when we saw the square full of christmas decorations. after that, we couldn't stop taking pictures. we used kee san's camera - nikon S200 with anti-shake. after that, we walked around, going crazy periodically at the sight of cute stuff. haha.. i've finally found people with similar interest. =P

all in all, we had a good time.=] we went back to my apartment first so that i could get my hands on the pictures we took today. buahahaha.. then they went home by lrt. surprisingly, kee san is now beside me. haha.. coz she missed the train. i think recently the komuter has been having a lot of problems like breaking down and being delayed and stuff. anyway, so here we are! yay! can chat all night oredy. hehee..

girls outing! yay!=]

i went out with kee san and boon koon today. it was such a nice outing. hehe..

me and kee san bought stuff like mad. we kept going into shops and spotting nice and cheap outfits. then boon koon will confirm that they are nice and me and kee san will be even 'broker'. then we also 'boria' with each other in so many items. now, all of us have the same bag, or have different colours of the same clothes. haha.. i guess we are bad influences on each other, if we want to save money. good thing the stuff we bought weren't that expensive, as in like we only bought tops ranging from rm9-12.

then i found this shop with lotz of nice dresses from silky material and with ribbons, rm25 each but no trying. the shop's formal wear was also very nice, albeit you still needed to pay 30sth for a top. i'll keep that in mind when i need to buy formal clothes next time.

of course, my outing could not be complete without bringing home 2 tiny cute furry soft-toys. =] kawaii~

look at the head.. it's so ROUND!! i think this is the cutest thingy i've ever seen for something to be hung in the car. it's the first thing i've bought to hang in my car just because it's cute. of course, now that i've seen it in detail, i think it's too precious to be hung in the sun all day long. hehe.. ;p

i've thought this was cute since i saw it in sunway. cute.. somemore can use to bash people's head up when they are naughty. hehe.. of course, the real one is too ex, so i just bought a tiny replica worth rm5 to remind myself of the big one. buahahaha..

sweet.. =]

First, was a trip to takoyaki sunway pyramid. we ate the octopus balls. it was simply delicious. i have been craving for it since time immemorial, the crave set in check by its pricey price for the three measly but delicious balls. i like the paper-like thingy the most, but don't know what they are. forgot to take pictures of it, so here's a picture of takoyaki, in case you were wondering, by http://whatieattoday.blogspot.com

Next, we saw this dragon beard candy made of peanuts weaved in honey. it seems it's very nice. hope to try it someday.

After that, in search of more solid food, we found this tiny korean restorant tucked in some corner near the ice-skating rink. the place looked quite nice. the ambience not bad.

we ordered the promotion for the day, rice with chicken or fish (rm9 each), and a strawberry ice cream with small chunks of strawberry inside. they provided 3 free side dishes, and free warm water. the side dishes were rather disappointing, since it was just 3 per table. the korean restorant i went to in seremban gave 3 side dishes per person plus 2 dishes on the house.

it was also a weekend with lots of new friends. hehe.. first of all.. the cute whales!

and after that, a cute bear bear! i bought it with the intention of giving it to a friend, then.. it was so cute that i couldn't bear to part with it. so.... after hugging it and mushing it and taking tons of pictures with it.. how can i give it to a friend as a present?! that's so impolite! right?right? it's mine!!;p

Big Apple Donuts!

simply delicious!! best i've ever tasted!!
you won't have lived until you try at least once! and then you'll never stop! buahahaha..

American almond - one of the nicer ones, i think. tasty, not too sweet. on the whole, not bad.

Banana rama - i didn't like this that much. the chocolate and banana taste just doesn't seem to fit in well together. tasted a bit weird to me.

Oreo - my favourite flavour. ate that two days in a row. not too sweet, the donut is real soft. simply makes you crave for more.

Mango tango - i didn't get to try this. but according to my housemate, it is really very nice. worth trying.

from left to right, top most row:
glaze - i think that's just ok.. a bit sweet.
kiwi - not bad. quite tasty.
chocolate - nice leh! chocolate can never be too far off.
chocolate banana

2nd row, left to right:
cheese - didn't really like it. it's a bit salty. hmm.. salty and cheesy? not for me.
oreo
peanut butter - another of my favourite! just nice! taste nice!
snowy - not too bad. just a bit sweet. i like it.

last two: glaze and almond.

ramblings from last night

061107

It’s late… I listen to the songs playing on my cd. I’m dubbing a tape from it to put into my car. It sounds good. Puts me in a writing mood. What am I doing?? I’m supposed to wake up early tomorrow to make sushi and carrot cake and cocoa jelly in preparation for my cousin’s visit on Thursday. And yet here I am… haha..

There are just 5 measly days left of my semester 4 holidays. I started this week diligently trying (in vain) to learn Japanese. It’s been on my holiday ‘to do’ list since dunno which semester. Yet I always seem to lose my enthusiasm for it the minute I think of doing it. Well, so I started… and I simply CANNOT remember the different characters. Sigh.. god help me.. hopefully I can squeeze in a lesson everyday even after class starts again. Hmmm.. doesn’t sound like a responsible student should. Hah.. it’s my last sem in Malaysia after all.

Time seemed to has flown so fast. It seems like yesterday when I was still working during the half-year break waiting for semester 1 to start. It seems like yesterday when I was still in Tunku Durah with all my friends. Sigh.. gosh, I sure am in a sighing mood tonight. Maybe that’s what late nights do. I will start my fifth semester in 5 more days. The thought of that fills me with impending doom, with dread… not wanting to be away from friends and family here.. afraid of what might change when I return..

Anyway, I digress..

The songs put an idea in my head to make a list of whatever I can remember. Weird right. Heh.. anyway, I suppose I should start. I have already crapped more than half a page.

the first song I liked, leading me on to listen to the radio.. – Sometimes, by Britney spears. She was real sweet back then. I remember hearing the song in Genting theme park with Grace (Hui Man). We were at some family camp in peacehaven, I think.

The first gassy drink I liked – well, actually I still don’t like gassy drinks. But that time when I enjoyed it most was in secondary school, when we girls would drink iced coke after PJK when we were all exhausted and breathless and dead thirsty. I would always drink with 2 straws. Hehe.. one of my weird habits. I think it tastes nicer. Try it!;p

The first time I cried buckets into my food – eww.. that was when we graduated in form 5. because my camera, containing precious photographs of my high school friends, SPOILED!! With all the pictures inside. Of people I thought I would not be seeing again for my entire lifetime. Okay, I know I’m being dramatic, but that was what I was thinking at that time. Well, at least I managed to salvage one very special one. ;p

The first colour I liked – blue I think. Since I was young, dunno why. Then it became purple, thanks to influence from john white’s books. At least I think so. Can’t really remember anyway. Now?? I suppose it’s pink. I don’t consciously make a decision. It’s just that one day I looked at my clothes hanging to dry at home in seremban (at that time I still took all my laundry home), and I realized they were all pink, in one way or another.

My favourite soft toy?? – the teddy bear, I suppose. My first teddy bear that I positively adored was one given by Aunty Meng Choo when I was hospitalized in standard 1. it was just so soft, with two hearts hanging from its neck. Now? Well, in a way, my taste in bears is the same as kee san: must have hair, soft, nice to hug, and simply capture my heart! Haha.. my dream bear… must be simply LARGE!! So that it can hug me. Hehe.. the pink bear I saw that day is down to one!! Somebody actually bought one. I wonder who the owner is, could it be a little girl, ecstatic over her new toy, hugging it to sleep everynight. Or maybe it’s a teenager like me, okay I just realized I’m already out of my teens, but anyway, a teenager reliving her childhood fantasies. Maybe it’s a boy, waiting to surprise a special girlfriend with it. Or maybe the boy could keep it for himself! Haha.. boys can like soft toys too can’t they? It’s a free world. ;p

What else?? I’m already out of topics. Can’t believe it… is this getting boring??

First time hospitalized? – well, that was in standard one, for suspected meningitis. They almost wanted to dig out my bone marrow for checking!! What a close shave I had. I’m so glad I didn’t know at that time. Imagine the pain! Anyway, in the end, amidst lotz of prayers, the doctor just gave me a strong antibiotic and it died out on it’s own. Second time hospitalized, was because I got bonked in the head by a basketball. That sound stupid right. Haha.. I think the precipating factor was the flower pot which hit my head when I fell.

Can’t think of anymore.. I think I better go to sleep. If not I wonder what my cousin will be eating on Thursday. Haha.. good night everyone!!

continuation of my list

071107

So here I am again while waiting for the sushi rice to cook. I got some more ideas last night before I slept.

My first attempt at knitting – I started with gloves. My first one was quite weird, the thumb part. When I got the bright idea to learn how to knit, I went online searching for lessons. What I got was so hard to understand. Thank goodness I found myself a ‘sifu’ just waiting to be asked – my dearest grandma!;p from her I learnt a lot, including the basics and the not so basics. Sadly, I have forgotten most of them, again. Well, yesterday, I shot a video of her in action!

First time I witnessed an accident – it was on my way to my second driving test. Yup, I failed my first one, the inside one. ;p I was thinking that those people sitting for the outside test that day was so lucky for not having to go out to town, instead they just went a few rounds around the labu road. Then this guy says: I’d rather go out than have somebody die. Wow.. made quite an impression on me. Hehe..

The first smile I fell in love with – literally. His smile sorts of crinkles up his face at the side, making him look as if he is very shy. Like a person blushing in a comic book. Hehe.. but I think it’s very cute. That was the first thing that caught my attention. Dunno was it this first or the driving incident first. Gosh, I’m getting sappy. Okay, next topic..

My first crush?? – okay, bear in mind. It was really nothing serious. Heck, I was in kindergarden at that time! And the guy had a gigantic mole on his face! I amaze myself sometimes.

My first home – it had a garden where we planted banana trees, papaya trees, mango trees.. my dad even had a tank there once, to rare fish to eat and to plant lotus. Strangely, the fish all died. We shifted 10 years ago. I didn’t want to actually, coz it was full on memories of my bro. anyway, it was for the better, or I would never have met and gotten close to my friends living near my new area.

My first dog, well, sort of – I named it Scotty. It was a white dog with black patches, had long hair and a long swishing tail. All in all, it looked simply adorable. It was a stray, usually following the madman living four doors away. One day I took pity on it and started feeding it. It came back every evening after that. Mind you, Scotty was having gardenia bread for dinner everyday. Wow.. anyway, one day, I never saw it again. My grandma, the maternal one, told me the madman had cooked it and ate it. Now, I think some people must have put it to sleep. That’s what happens to strays anyway. Sigh..

The first ice cream I bought with my own money – at the shop beside chan wa. I remember eating it with boon koon while waiting for our transport home. Felt so nice to be able to hang out with a close friend like that. Still remember it till today. =]

Do you believe that everything we go through makes us who we are now? I think so. Everything that has happened before made us who we are now. Coz we learn as we live. We change, sometimes for the better (hopefully), sometimes for the worse (hopefully not). Every decision that we made, whether consciously or not, leads us to where we are now. People we may not have met, places we would not have gone.. but the romantic in me still believes that if fate have decreed us to meet, even though things had been different, we would still have met, albeit under different circumstances, in another time. And we would still have memories to cherish, even though it may be different ones, but nonetheless still precious.
