How penang fattens up a person

first stop: we tried the famous beef kuay teow soup opposite bomba. the o jian not bad too.

up close n personal. and d next thing i saw thru d lens was It baring its sharp sharp teeth at me and press its hands on d ground (the action animals do just the second before they pounce). and thru the lens, i suppose It was so much bigger. i don't think i was that far away either since i don't have zoom lens. so well, to say the least, i let out an embarassing shriek.

next time i think i will only shoot close ups of animals with a zoom lens. lesson learnt.





dinner at the stall near aunt's place with my regular drink in penang - barley! really necessary for all the heaty food i will be taking.
dinner had nth special. but supper.. hehe.. here's song river round 1 - fried kuey teaw w'out egg, more damp, and with chilli. plus lobak and prawn fritters.

we even had a flat tire to spice up our trip. no adventour is without its setbacks i presume.
day 2, lunch was at lorong selamat - my favourite ice kacang and kuey teaw soup. best eva! the supposedly famous but rude fried kuey teaw stall had her own shop nowadays, but we did't try it.

tea was the famous ayer hitam assam laksa. really didn't let me down. the side dishes fr the nearby stall was not bad also.
dinner was at a hawker centre opposite the methodist girls school or sth. ok la, nth special.
day 3: b'fast was dimsum at the foot of bukit bendera. seremban dimsum, no, dimsum at manchester is still the nicest. hehe..

day 4: lunch at dunkin donut on the highway back home. quite a lot to digest given that we were all having diarrhoea. haha..

penang is heaven if u know where to go, and plain ordinary if you don't.

anyhow, i didn't bring much back, since i deposited most of what i gained from penang (food) in 11 episodes of diarrhoea on the way back, 7 of which occured within 3 hours. -.-"

so well, it must just mean that i ate well right? hehe..

frankly speaking, right now even the mention of food to me is quite a turn off. i think i have officially overdosed my self with food.

good for losing weight though.;p

Raya celebrations - a backdated post

then off to my house for baking round 1.





next off was a round of good sweaty invigorating game.




finished off with ravenous people and a good meal, where we got to meet francis again.



all in all, i think it was a raya holiday well spent.=]

Melaka one day trip

once again another long overdue post.. man.. fb is doing bad stuff to my blog. sweat.

anyway, we went to melaka for a one-day trip with ck and his seniors during raya. gosh.. the jam was terrible. but the trip was not bad la. considering the conditions.

first of all, after dimsum for b'fast, we paid a short visit to wu gong shan in seremban temiang there. it's been quite a number of years since i've been there. they really renovated a lot. now it looks so modern. last time it looked like those forgotten temples up on the hill. which was not bad also. a totally different feel. more mysterious.


while my friends went in to offer their prayers, i kept myself busy outside taking pics of my favourite models - flowers! yay! finally, some more malaysian floras....

of course, the guys had the best photo at this spot. everyone knows why. haha..

then we found the spot with the dreamy hills in the distance.... kachak kachak began with different people posing~ ^^



after that we headed on to melaka.. looking at pics in between.. then since it was so jam.. (raya ma.. since we had to go during such a peak period.. duno who plan wan.. haha..).. so as not to waste time, we were actually cam-whoring in the car.. so dangerous right. especially since the driver was our main photographer... but this is called making efficient use of every second and every minute.




finally, we passed by the red houses.. we were getting closer to our destination - newton foodcourt for fen fen's po piah!!





FINALLY!!! i like~


after eating, we went to jonkers and walked around for a while. it was so crowded.. we ended up eating horrible versions of famous stuff at places we've never heard of. but still.. a place to sit and chill was good enough i guess. the ice kacang wasn't too bad either apart from the ice being rock hard.



tried the snacks too~ nice! except for the last biji.. some china sa li or sth.. made all of us cough. i think it's irritant to the throat. wat a time to cough though.. especially in the midst of H1n1.. sigh.. sweat...



i wanted to buy home some pineapple tarts, but due to the excessive demand... we were told we would have to wait for like half an hour to 45 minutes for it.. too bad..



finally, after going in circles and getting lost (padan muka we all, at first say melaka very small), thanks to the help from fen fen we managed to find the satay celup shop!


i really should memorise melaka streets. it's really such a food haven~~

last stop.. su ying's house for mah jong. hmm.. first time i see ppl play. quite enlightening.
